Big Girl Room

We've been working on getting everything cleared out of our spare bedroom in order to make Abby her big girl room. We finally made quite a bit of progress last weekend and hope that Abby will be able to spend the first night in her new room next weekend. So far, she loves climbing on her bed.

I was able to get a great deal on a dresser - $5. It's hard to pass that up. It didn't look the greatest, but it was in pretty good shape other than the top. After a few coats of paint, it (almost) looks brand new. The drawers are much easier to open on this dresser than her other one, so she is already enjoying being able to pull out her clothes and throw them all over the floor. It should definitely last her a couple of years. Once the new baby is big enough to sleep in a bed, we're planning on buying them new bedroom furniture, including bunkbeds.

As you can tell, she is enjoying sitting on her new bed. All we need to do is put on the railing and it will be ready to go. And yes, this is her Uncle Chris' old bed.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that this is a smooth transition. We'll try it out for a few weeks and if it doesn't work, we will just have to buy a second crib.
